"Media Violence Statistics" November 29, 2009
www.safeyouth.org

Summery:

It gives lots of fact and stats and i would like to share them. It says that 61% of television shows contain some sort of violence while on the other side on 4% show anti-violence themes. 43% of violence is involved with some sort of humor. No punishment was given for 75% of scenes with violence. There is a bad character in 40% of shows. in 2001 the 70 top video games 89% of them contained violence.

Response:

I agree that games and television are becoming more and more violence. I know that kids today would much rather play an action shooter game than a strategy game. When you play a shooting game ever thing that you conquer is like a personal battle that you just won. It boosts your confidence. Kids are now able to be judged at how good they are at games. It is almost looked down on in our society to not be decent at video games.
